List of required documents in order to apply for a Short Stay Visa
ATTENTION : you must provide all the originals of the documents plus a set of photocopy for each document.
IMPORTANT : the implementation of the Community Code on Visas (Schengen) and the harmonization of procedures regarding visa delivery at the European level now leads to the immediate rejection of ANY INCOMPLETE APPLICATION OR ANY APPLICATION THAT WOULD NOT CONFORM TO THE ORDER OF PRESENTATION OF THE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
1) - Processing fees. Please see our fee grid in order to know the amount to pay
2) - Passport valid at least three months after the expiry date of the visa. + photocopy of PAGES WITH PICTURE, EXPIRY DATE OF PASSPORT, VISAS ISSUED, ALL STAMPS
Your passport must have been issued less than 10 years ago (first issuance). Even if it has been renewed since then by your country, we will decline your passport for a visa application and you will have to renew it prior to applying.
* Refugees: persons residing in Canada with refugee status, even if they hold permanent resident cards, must have in their possession a travel document for refugees, 1951 Geneva Convention Model.
3) - 1 Schengen visa application form hand filled and signed

4) - 2 recent and identical photos ID, format 35mm X 45mm only, with a clear and plain background. Pictures with hat, caps, sunglasses, etc.. will not be accepted (NO CUT OUT OF OR CANADIAN PASSPORT SIZED PICTURE).

Please glue one picture on the form and include the remaining one in an envelope.
5) - Any document supporting your status in Canada and allowing your re-entry, if needed + photocopy. Your Canadian reentry visa sticker must be valid at least 3 months after your departure from the Schengen zone. If you are a landed immigrant in Canada, you must provide the original plus a photocopy of both sides of your PR card.
* Refugees: persons residing in Canada with refugee status, even if they hold permanent resident cards, must have in their possession a travel document for refugees, 1951 Geneva Convention Model.
6) - Airplane or train reservation for the entire travel in the Schengen zone or proof of participating in an organized tour + photocopy
7) - If applicable, any document allowing your entry in the country of your main destination + photocopy
8) - Depending on the purpose of your stay :
Tourism : hotel reservation for all cities and countries visited. Be aware that once you submit the hotel reservations, you will not be allowed to change them. + photocopy
Family visit or private stay : you must provide one of the following proof of accommodation :
— EITHER the original of the Attestation d’Accueil issued by the City Hall in France where your host is residing. This Attestation d’Accueil can not be changed and must cover the whole duration of your stay in France + photocopy.
— IF YOU RENT A PROPERTY : the original of the lease ( bail de location ) in France and proof of payment + photocopy
— IF YOU OWN A PROPERTY : the original of your property title in France + photocopy
Business trip : original of the detailed letter of invitation from the host company in France, stating the purpose of your stay, whether your expenses, including medicals will or will not be taken care of by the host company during the entire length of your stay. This letter must also state that you will not receive any financial compensation or pay in France during your stay.
Remunerated activity in France : work contract stamped by the DIRECCTE (Direction Régionale des Entreprises, de la Concurrence, de la Consommation, du Travail et de l’Emploi, ex DDTEFP)
Scientist and teaching assistant : Original of the Protocole d’accueil issued by an accredited organisation and stamped by the Préfecture. If you are going as a teaching assistant, you must submit your arrêté de nomination issued by the Rectorat you refer to when in France + photocopy
Artist under contract : Original of the work contract stamped by the DIRECCTE or by the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles (DRAC). If you are on a show tour, it is the DIRECCTE or the DRAC of the first place you will begin your tour that is competent + photocopy
Non-remunerated internship : Original of the Convention de stage between your employer, your school and yourself, signed by all parties and stamped by the DIRECCTE (Direction Régionale des Entreprises, de la Concurrence, de la Consommation, du Travail et de l’Emploi, ex DDTEFP) + photocopy as well as the original of the Attestation d’Accueil issued by the City Hall of the city you will be staying + photocopy.
Studies : Original of the Attestation de pré-inscription ou d’inscription in a post secondary institution (university or professional school) or the original of the convocation aux épreuves préalables d’admission en France + photocopy AND proof of registration for the current year in a school in Canada as well as your last last diploma + photocopy Proof of payment of tuition fees if the institution is not a university
9) - Proof of your socio-professional status in Canada:
If you are self-employed, you must provide your business registration + photocopy
If you are employed, you must provide a detailed proof of employment (letter from your employer) as well as your last three pay stubs + photocopy
If you are retired with pension, you need to provide a proof of it + photocopy
If you are a student, you must provide a recent detailed letter from your school + photocopy
If you have a scholarship, you must submit your scholarship papers + photocopy
If you are unemployed you must provide your spouse detailed proof of employment (letter from the employer) as well as the last three pay stubs + photocopy AND the marriage certificate translated + photocopy
10) - In any case, it is mandatory to submit your last three months bank statement + photocopy
11) - If you are a minor under 18 years old, you must provide the parental authorization signed by both parents. Click on the icon below to download that form.

12) - Original of the airplane ticket or eticket or proof that your ticket has been paid in full + photocopy
13) - Proof of confirmation of the hotel reservation if you are staying in a hotel.
14) - Travel medical insurance valid for the entire length of your stay in the Schengen zone, covering medicine, hospitalization, repatriation, death, pregnancy, for a minimum of $50,000 CAD + photocopy.
Attention : your provincial insurance is not enough, you must purchase a private insurance.
15) - 1 Xpresspost envelope

13) - Proof of confirmation of the hotel reservation if you are staying in a hotel.

Attention : your provincial insurance is not enough, you must purchase a private insurance.
