Applying for a Work Permit
In general, citizens of our accredited countries will be granted a New Zealand Work Visa or Permit if they hold a written offer of employment for which they are qualified, and are in possession of an "Approval in Principle", issued by the New Zealand Immigration Service. You will also need a Work Visa for an Internship (although no Approval in Principle is required), for voluntary Work, or if you are to receive free board in exchange for services rendered, eg for work on a farm.
Check the New Zealand Immigration Service (NZIS) website for more details about the requirements for obtaining a Work Visa. You can download application forms for Work Visas and Permits from the NZIS website. Please check the requirements set out in the Application for a Work Visa Information Sheet.
Please note, the New Zealand Embassy in Brussels is not responsible for issuing work permits for New Zealanders wishing to work in Belgium, Luxembourg, Bulgaria or Romania. A New Zealander who wishes to work in any of these countries must first apply to the appropriate country's visa section for information on immigration procedures.
